When it comes to remembering banking details, like your BSB and account numbers, most people simply can’t. With all the numbers and passwords in our lives, these numbers are all too easily forgotten.
That’s where a PayID can help.
Coming soon, you’ll no longer need to use a BSB and bank account number to get paid or to transfer money to someone - even if they bank with someone else. You can use a PayID.
A PayID is something easy to remember, like your mobile phone number or email address that you register with Hume Bank and is linked to your account. Then, when someone needs to pay you, you simply give them your PayID instead of your BSB and account number.
And if you need to pay someone, you only need their PayID to transfer money directly into their bank account. You can also include a longer description with your payment so it’s easier to keep track. And when you receive a payment, you’ll see who’s sent you the money and their accompanying message.
Once the NPP becomes available, you will be able to create a PayID linked to your account with Hume. The range of PayID types that will be enabled by the platform and will be available through Hume are:
- Mobile number
- Email address
- ABN (Australian Business Number)
- A Unique Business identifier
To take advantage of this brand new platform for banking transactions, please ensure that your phone number and email address details are up-to-date in our system. You can update these details through iBank (via www.humebank.com.au), calling us on 1300 004 863 or by visiting a branch.
