We understand that scammers can impersonate banks, so we want to make it easy for you to verify when a call or message is genuinely from us.
Phone calls from Hume Bank
If we need to contact you, we’ll only call from one of the following numbers:
- 1300 004 863
- (02) 6051 3211
- (02) 6053 4000
If you receive a call claiming to be from Hume Bank from any other number, be cautious. If you’re unsure, hang up and contact us directly on 1300 004 863.
SMS messages from Hume Bank
Hume Bank may send SMS messages from:
- Sender IDs: HumeBank
- Phone numbers: +61 437 126 492 and +61 489 988 024
Please note that scammers can sometimes spoof phone numbers and sender IDs. If a message seems unusual or asks you to click a link, provide personal information, or transfer money, contact us directly before taking any action.
Fraud alerts from Vigil
To help protect your accounts, we partner with fraud monitoring service Vigil. If suspicious activity is detected on your account, Vigil may contact you to verify transactions.
Vigil may contact you using the following numbers:
Phone calls
- 1300 705 750 (24/7 inbound service)
- +61 2 8299 9534 (outbound calls, 7am–10pm, 7 days a week)
SMS messages
- +61 437 126 492
- +61 489 988 024
If you receive a call or SMS from these numbers regarding potentially fraudulent activity on your account, it may be from Vigil acting on behalf of Hume Bank.
Not sure if it’s really us?
If you’re ever unsure whether a call, text message or email is genuine:
- Don’t share passwords, one-time codes or internet banking credentials
- Don’t click links you’re not expecting
- Hang up and call Hume Bank directly on 1300 004 863
- Report suspicious activity to us immediately
Important: Hume Bank and Vigil will never contact you from a blocked, unknown, or withheld number or ask you for your internet banking password, PIN, or secure authentication codes via phone, SMS or email.
